As the local MP it is an absolute honour and privilege to welcome you all to the 2015 Fieldays. I feel very fortunate that my electorate has the largest agribusiness exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere and we are incredibly proud to host so many visitors both nationally and internationally.
I am always staggered by the newest innovations and technology that are show cased each year at Fieldays. As a farmer I really do appreciate the latest farming programmes and leading edge concepts that allow our industry to grow. I always attend Fieldays with great interest to see what new ideas have been created from the previous year.
I encourage you to download the new Fieldays Application which allows a whole range of different ways to make the Fieldays experience more adaptable to your needs and enjoyment, such as Fieldays Map, Fieldays schedule and other things down to what’s happening with the weather.
There are many different rural events and activities that will keep both the young and old very entertained; there is something for each and every one of us whether we are traditional or not so. Be sure to visit the Ag Art Wear show, Kiwi’s Best Kitchen and No.8 Wire National Art award to name a few. I am sure I will see many of you watching the Tractor Pull which is always a crowd pleaser and the New Zealand National Fencing Championship.
With over a 1000 exhibits this year there is certainly plenty to see and do.
Fieldays is a big event so please be patient with each other and certainly to the many volunteers that provide their time to make our visit enjoyable.
Fingers crossed that the weather is kind and I look forward to meeting and seeing you over this fantastic four day event.
